Mini-Guide Includes...

20 pages of the principles and practices of CFT!

1/ The Evolutionary Model Behind CFT

2/ Three Emotion Regulation Systems

CFT is rooted in evolutionary psychology. We understand that our brains were designed for us, not by us, and our suffering is not our fault.

Threat, Drive and Soothing Systems are hardwired in the brain to help us survive. The problem is, in the modern world they can fall out of balance.

3/ Definition, Attributes, and Skills

4/ Practical Exercises and Case Studies

There is a lot to compassion. We understand it as an algorithm, being sensitive to suffering and taking helpful action. But it takes wisdom and skillfulness. Learn about the attributes and skills needed to develop the compassionate self.

Get started with some practical exercises you can try now. Body-based and imagery-based practices, and embodiment and taking action. Read about others who have experienced CFT. Explore self-criticism, relationship struggles and perfectionism.

More About Me

Hi, I'm Dr Stan Steindl

Believe me, when I first encountered CFT, developed by Prof. Paul Gilbert, I was a little overwhelmed! There's a lot to it!! But I've persisted with it for over a decade, and feel like I have my head around it...at least the basics.

And so, I've become a little bit obsessed with trying to communicate the principles and practices of CFT through my YouTube Channel and Podcast, collectively known as Compassion in a T-Shirt.

This free PDF, Mini-Guide: Compassion Focused Therapy, is an attempt to capture some of the basics and offer an introduction to all things CFT. I hope it helps!
